There's plenty of bones to pick with this government that resurfacing Deerfoot probably isn't some evil plan for the municipal election. It makes no sense to resurface when there's still lane expansion work, bridge work, on/off ramp work, and work building/fixing medians. If they resurface now, it'll just be cracked because of small movements during construction. Not to mention there's slowdown during resurfacing, because they have to remove the top layer so there's going to be a sharp drop. Cars will need to slowdown. Combine that with all the other work, people will just be complaining about the slow speed of Deerfoot.100% with this government they will wait until after the municipal election to resurface Deerfoot since most Calgarians are unaware that Deerfoot is a provincial responsibility and will instead blame Gondek and Council for problems created by the province. If Calgary elects a conservative mayor and council in the fall, watch many of these provincial jurisdiction issues magically get fixed.
