Office Space Conversion

I think we knew about this one because it was on the list, but a new article was posted this moring anyway:

Developers and architects can't really improve the facade of these old office buildings without blowing the budget. Brick, stone and pre-cast concrete are timeless. Adding cladding or painting the exterior makes it look tacky. Leave the exterior materials alone.
 
Interesting how time flies. 9 years ago, when the site was publishing various articles, I wrote up a small piece regarding converting office to residential. I felt very strongly that this was something that could happen, but wasn't sure how it would play out. At the time I was interested in the idea of converting offices, into residential but more into loft style spaces.

Here's the article. Also of note, the building in the article's thumbnail is now one of the ones slated for conversion.
