General Construction Updates

It's next to the river and Prince's island, so it will get some use from people passing by.
Fair enough, I was being a little dramatic in that it would be a desolate ghost town. There will be people using it and passing through. I think they should have waited to re-do the plaza once something concrete was planned to tie it in better. Who knows what will be built on the Eau Clare mall site, perhaps a better plaza design could have tied into it better. Alas, we will have to wait and see....

if the city doesn't turn it into a gravel parking lot what are we even doing here. Think of the parking revenue during Prince's Island Park events. That alone should bring our taxes down.
How many years would it take to pay off the billion dollars to cancel the Green Line? The rest of the $1.5 billion spent will hopefully be adapted into the next Green Line proposal which, fingers crossed, is cancelled too

The SE leg of the green line is going to happen regardless, the way costs keep going, that will likely use all the money budgeted so far.

Are you guys talking about the LRT canopy? They have been recladding the Len Werry building, maybe this is part of that?

Shepard maintenance and storage facility DP has been reapplied for, the downsizing of the two storey maintenance and admin section that happened right before the Lynnwood stub line has been reversed DMAP

For those like me who were wondering where Shepard station is in all this. I think it is at the south end of this around the pedestrian crossings?

I assume lot I-B is a park and ride?

Also curious there is no plan for a bus barn of any kind here... Are there plans to build at least a flyover on 130th at Stoney?

130th and Stoney SE is planned as a half interchange, with access to/from the north side of Stoney. The proximity to the Stoney / 22X interchange means any ramps to/from the south would be too close to that interchange's ramps, creating a hazardous weaving situation. Timing of said interchange is unkown.

The large empty space on the plans between Shepard station and the MSF is the park n ride lot. You can see the layout of the lot in the old DP screenshot

Google Earth seems to be updating their imagery again.

And by updating, it seems they are actively playing around with the data as I speak...

From what I can tell, this is the Summer of 2024

It keeps bugging in and out. I had West District for a few minutes but then it stopped working. Better to leave it for now and come back later I suppose. 🤔

EDIT: It's working now!
