Isn't it super cold? The last River Run condo building burned down last night. What is it with abandoned buildings that are about to be demoed burning down lately?

No, not really.Isn't it super cold?
You don't live in Calgary?? I figured you did. It's been 10 degrees like most of the month. Other than 7 or so days below freezing.Isn't it super cold?
if the city doesn't turn it into a gravel parking lot what are we even doing here. Think of the parking revenue during Prince's Island Park events. That alone should bring our taxes down.I look forward to this being a dirt lot for the next 20 years!
Don't worry, there's a Local across the street and whatever is in the old Buffalo 1886 Cafe building now. This is going to take a bit, there's I think a two level underground there as well. That Joey's is going to be on an island.
Even if they did that, they wouldnt ever lower our taxes lmaoif the city doesn't turn it into a gravel parking lot what are we even doing here. Think of the parking revenue during Prince's Island Park events. That alone should bring our taxes down.
I wasn't being serious lol. We're two years from a more solid Green Line design and numbers so it at least has that long to sit there.Even if they did that, they wouldnt ever lower our taxes lmao
In a mid July 2024 universe this is being setup to be used as a laydown yard for the Green Line tunnel. I think the ship had sailed by then. Sure people could've stayed in their condo but the city had already taken over some of the units.Terrible planning and execution all around. This thing should have still been operational until the green line was 100% finalized. Now we have lost houses and a somewhat functioning mall for an empty gravel lot that will remain empty for a minimum of 2-3 years, likely more. There was no point re-doing the plaza either as there isn’t anything here anymore to draw people to the plaza. What a waste of the last three years. Just an overall clusterfuck of planning.
It's next to the river and Prince's island, so it will get some use from people passing by.here was no point re-doing the plaza either as there isn’t anything here anymore to draw people to the plaza.
