General Construction Updates

SAM Centre by Stampede Park and a bonus horse statue picture because I know how much everyone here loves them 😄 Building seems nice and will probably see more activity once the new arena is built, provided the design doesn't turn its back to the eastern side. My one comment only is that it's disappointing they didn't do a better job with the landscaping to tie in the Rundle Ruins with the property. The connection seems like a complete after thought where as they could have created an obvious pathway from the southern courtyard to the ruins.

This might be too general a construction update for this forum seeing as how it's in a different province, but the Museum of Anthropology at UBC has demolished and completely rebuilt the landmark Great Hall for seismic reasons, and the 85-year old architect (Nick Milkovich) who oversaw the work began his career as a student of Erickson working on the original hall. Good article/interview here. More info on the rebuild here. Very cool project; it reopens this weekend.
