General Construction Updates

Maybe the XYZ building in East Village? The residential market is in horrible shape, especially for inner city condos. I'd be surprised if even Arris goes ahead anytime soon.

It's definitely not the M2 Block by XYC, she would have saw those plans years ago.

Yeah, that's a s**tload of unit units. With that kind of number they'll be pretty tall.

@UrbanWarrior was it you who mentioned a large project coming near the Stampede? I recall someone mentioning it but can't remember when.

It's a large site They can easily fit 2 towers on Macleod and 2 towers on first. Add a podium and the heights could be only in the 20s

I'm not usually a fan of these large multi tower projects, but I'm happy to see 1520 units proposed for the inner city. I'd prefer to see 1520 units dispersed over 15 different smaller buildings scattered around the core, but it still is density. A few more highrises in the Beltline skyline would be nice.

You could even do 6 towers, as the lot as similar in size and shape to Parkside's final phase. I would expect to see tall ones here though, as there won't be shadow restrictions. My guess is 4-5 towers ranging from 25-40 floors.

So this is pretty big. 1 building, 1250 units. I assume while it is counted as a single building, it will be multiple towers out of a large podium. Either way, 1250 is a lot, so should be pretty tall. Nice anchor to the Macleod couplet, and entrance into downtown.

That's the Elbow River Inn site, probably one of the most attractive parcels in the city. Will be a challenging site in terms of ingress/egress and flood protection.

I am surprised as anyone on this one too. I don't see anything coming from this application anytime soon. Just 5-6 blocks north will be the balance of Bentall Kennedys Portfolio. A block from BK is One Properties (formerly WAM) with 1-3 towers planned. And the west side of Macleod Tr just a few blocks south is Anthem Erlton. All these developers are waiting for the inner-city residential market to turn which it is long ways from doing.

Whoa....1500 units! That's crazy huge. I'd be surprised if anything happened with this one, but I've been surprised a few times already this part year or two.
