I don't have a strong opinion one way or another on the new layout, but I will say that a part of me will miss that weird 50s-through-the-lens-of-the-80s PoMo aesthetic that was going on in that McDonalds. It certainly had character.

Respectfully, if you live in the area, why are you driving and not walking or biking? Isn't that partly the point of living in the inner city?

E: mulled this one, I can see the advantage of a drive thru if you are using a car anyway and it's a "stop" on the way to/from home.

Bingo - the only time I go to McDonald's is at 6:30 am weekend mornings to grab breakfast on the way to the slopes. Inner city residents do also drive places.

Those three units were apparently amalgamated. The building is getting reskinned and converted from rental to condo, or at least some portion of the units. There was a rendering out on twitter just over a month ago but seems deleted.

2. Owner of the building moving into a big new unit
