I dunno? Cause it softens the look of concrete? CMLC has people that come and re-finish the wood every spring. See RiverWalk benches for more info.

Glad to hear there is annual re-finishing on the Riverwalk wood elements (benches etc.).
As I say, it does look great as long as it’s maintained.

Wood that's properly treated (stained, painted, treated with acitate) should only need to be refinished every 10 years or so. You don't re-stain your deck every summer do you?

I shouldn’t have said they do it every year as I’m not 100% sure now. But I do know they just redid them this year, and I’m pretty sure they do it yearly but not certain.

Not sure if I'm the first to mention this, but Google Maps has just updated their 3D renders of Calgary!

I heard a rumour that Vibe (the smaller twin of Verve) might be back on the table. Either that or there is an interested buyer. With half the foundation already built, I’d imagine it would be a pretty easy sell, and a very easy build.
