I think once the West Ring Road opens up, traffic patterns on that half of the city will change dramatically, and the current bottleneck that is Bow/Sarcee will see a lot of relief. Plus, it would probably be easier to just up the frequency of the #98, so there is a direct connection to the West LRT. Would only be a 10 minute ride from here to the station, then 15 minutes into downtown. Not bad.
 
Crappy photo taken from far away while out for a walk, but Trico is mobilizing on their site today, looks like they will be putting in the utilities and upgrading 81st here pretty soon:

Stripping and grading is well underway at the Trico's West 83rd Townhome site, including ripping up the existing 81st street to put in the deep utilities:
