For those more in the know, is the city responsible for roadway improvements and other work on this land? I thought the UD land is all "leased" from the University and no homeowner here owns the land. Does the University own the roads/infrastructure too? Take a Shopping Centre, I think the owner of the mall is responsible for surfacing the parking lots and connecting to city services. Is that not the case here?- The City is going to pilot doing bump-outs all along University Ave this summer. Definitely needed as the area gets busier and busier. I wonder why this wasn't done from the start? They put bump outs almost everywhere else in the neighborhood.
They actually mention this in the same presentation. The city is responsible for the infrastructure after it is turned over by the developer. I think the issue of who maintains infrastructure is separate from the issue of who owns the land it sits on (another example of this is utility right of ways). For those more in the know, is the city responsible for roadway improvements and other work on this land? Me too. I've been wondering that for a while. I'm hoping for a couple of low rise buildings.I don't think we have seen anything yet for the upcoming Block 11A/B on that map. Curious to see what it is.
The missed bike lane was a major failOutside of bike-lane oversight, it really is a very well executed development so far.
That's an interesting arrangement. I remember seeing others mention residential developers usually don't like to manage the ground floor retail. Wonder if CMLC can do something similar for East Village/ future Vic Park to make the retail mix better.![]()

I wonder if this is a sign that Truman is reaching their max capacity; they have a crazy number of projects on the go right now.![]()
