Yup, it always has. You'd think for being the closest thing to arid among all the major cities in the country that the city would give a shit about maintaining a decent canopy.

I was meaning to address that for a while now too. Im starting to notice more and more dead trees. Definitely has to do with the abnormal seasons we've been having as of late but seems like the city has also let most of the damaged trees left hung to dry. Not to mention that a lot of these new developers do a poor job of maintaining new trees along sidewalks. I know most trees species don't grow well in Calgary given our climate but Id still like to see a strong tree canopy, it's one of those simple yet big deals that can break or make a city IMO.

The city definitely struggles at keeping trees going. These ones here at Underwood will probably do okay being that they completely surrounded by soil and not in a concrete planter - or tree coffin as some call it.
