If they would have reduced the spandrel on this by 50% it would have turned out to be a pretty good looking tower with that colour. Shame it had to be like this. Its not butt ugly but not pretty either. The North side of the tower is the worst side to look at with all that spandrel, mainly because its so flat. Still props to Cidex for continuing to invest in Calgary during the downturn.
 
Less spandrel glass is always a good thing. This one didn't turn too bad for a spandrel tower. The spandrel is by design. It has symmetry for one thing. It isn't filler or placed to hide an interior design feature. I would have preferred brick or concrete over spandrel glass.
