If the last house from 2007 is any indication, it looks like those old houses that lined the street were fairly large and probably cost a lot back in pre-WW1 times.

It is a big win filling in the street wall along 13th Ave! A great job has been done with the sidewalk and landscaping along there, too bad there isn't something along the south side of 13 Ave but guess that means mountain views for people living on the south side of the building!

As a former resident of Brooklyn I'm not sure what exactly they are trying to reference. Also, as usual, they could edit out 1-2 materials on that facade (but not the brick!) and improve the outcome.
But hey, it has potential, and the block it's going on is a wasteland, so I'll take it.

I think we all agree it's much better than the parking lot its going to replace
The dimensions/scale of the building resemble the projects in Brooklyn, not the brownstones the name immediately evokes.

The first thing I thought when I saw the rendering was how busy it is, but overall pretty decent. I like the corner with glass wall overlooking the street, it's always nice having some presence people at windows close to the street. The rendering makes the area look like a cozy leafy street, which isn't the case, but maybe someday it will be.
The huge plus is the filling of an empty lot. I'm happier with this than I would be with another tower in the area.

The length , height and close proximity to the sidewalk is overpowering. The design is just plain ugly. It's better than what is there now. Going from an F to a D. That D will stand the rest of our lives and our children's lives.

I don't adore it, but considering all four corners of this intersection are parking lots, I'll take it.

I think it is all the rectangles, way too many protruding rectangles.

Yes, it's a bit busy, but I don't hate the way that it's busy. This looks pretty wide and I feel like a completely uniform facade might just deliver another Metropolitan.
