Teck Place Conversion | 44m | 10s | Cidex Group | NORR

Adequate job retaining the essence of the original. However, cheap spandrel window wall replacing the original curtain wall and looking nothing like it being called incredible and perfect perservation is a sad joke. Budgetary constraints is a reality but, if we are going to excuse everything on these realities than we will be continually saluting mediocrity. Spandrel glass is architectural laziness and how does Montreal manage to build almost everything with SSG Curtainwall?

Agreed, I'm glad they didn't just bulldoze this or add random color squares, but I would hardly call it some amazing effort in preservation. It's now the Temu of mid-century architecture.

Considering how the previous most recent conversions, Cornerstone and Hat Eau Claire, turned out, I still think this looks really good. Especially considering one of those is another Cidex project.

I’m holding off on calling this “perfect” until I see the pedestrian interface. If the landscape architecture is good then I’ll be 100% content
