Still good for the diagram pages.totally forgot ssp exists
Hard to believe the tallest tower in Western Canada will sit here.
Pretty salty about the design overall, and seems to think having landscaped areas in front of the worst stroad in Calgary would be better than the enclosed podium spaces.
Now that the height has been released, it's confirmed that it will be taller than any building either completed or under construction. The only proposal I am aware of that would be taller is the supertall proposed for Vancouver, but I have doubts that project will happen anytime soon, if ever, considering the state of their condo market.I think it'll be tallest in Alberta, and "one of the tallest" in Western Canada.
Does Vancouver not have height restrictions as well? I am usually all for supertalls in dense areas, but Vancouvers skyline is mainly all highrises and midrises, it just doesn't have the same aesthetic as most global cities are constantly building taller. Now that the height has been released, it's confirmed that it will be taller than any building either completed or under construction. I think it's more about view cones than height restrictions, and I think they have waived them for this one, maybe for all projects moving forward.Does Vancouver not have height restrictions as well? I think it is best if it stays that way honestly. It would stick out like a sore thumb.
I've always had that suspicion...Guys, im pretty sure Maestro is Wippersnapper![]()
For us nostalgia types....In front of the hotel, I'd like to see a bronze statue of that guy playing the saxophone. From the piss ramp to the penthouse, truly a "glow up" as the kids use to say.
Honestly, wish we had more of this. This is the type of stuff that gives a city a great vibe.Way back in the early 90’s (when it was legal or no one really cared to look into it), my dad used to set up a fruit stand right in front of the piss ramp and sold B.C. cherries. There was a guy selling cowboys hats beside him, another guy sold baked potatoes, and the guy across the street in front of the brick house sold beef jerkey….those were the days!
