Riverwalk | 45.11m | 12s | Campion | S2

It's become an automatic reaction to any proposal these days. There is always a segment who oppose any change.

is one now has some NIMBY opposition. Saw an ad on Facebook, they seem to be getting roasted by the general populace, so hopefully this opposition leads nowhere.

The website said to send an email to the city case manager. So I sent an email in support of the project.
I sent an e-mail to the file manager also.
What a terrific and necessary project. My grandma lived in stranded (albeit ok) seniors housing in Ogden, and took the bus downtown often. These are the kinds of projects that the City should fast-track and not be too picky on.
My grandfather lived in Mission on 25th ave, in a regular apartment up until he was 88. One of the things he liked about it was he could walk to Safeway, and Shoppers' A couple of places he went to 3 or 4 times a week.

Thank you all for your interest in Riverwalk Senior Living. On Feb. 7, CPC gave unanimous recommendation of approval to the land use change and associated amendments to the local plan. The last step of the approvals process will be going before Council for consideration and decision at the March 18 Public Hearing. If realizing this seniors' supportive living residence matters to you, we encourage you to tell City Council what you think by sharing your views by 12:00pm on March 11 with the Office of the City Clerk here: https://developmentmap.calgary.ca/#feedback/LOC2018-0143

Your letter will be included in the Agenda of Council and assist Councillors in reviewing and deciding on whether or not Riverwalk is approved for development.

There are updated renders available on the website https://riverwalkseniors.com as well as our full Application Brief and What We Heard Report.

Thank you for your time, consideration, and hopefully your support!

Thank you for a thoughtful and impressive development! Best of luck on the project

The land use goes to Council Public Hearing on Monday:
Don't know if it was the SRC bump from a few posts up, but the public submissions are not ALL negative:
But there are some opposed:

And, presuming the Council approves the land use, the DP goes to Planning Commission on Thursday:
DP drawings here:

An interesting bit of information, in the letters of support for the land use, Combie REIT confirmed they own the Safeway block to the south, and have plans for redevelopment. The downside is, they don't appear to be in a rush:

If anyone's wondering, this is what's currently there.

Definitely a massive improvement in both design and density.
