What a terrific and necessary project. My grandma lived in stranded (albeit ok) seniors housing in Ogden, and took the bus downtown often. These are the kinds of projects that the City should fast-track and not be too picky on.

I sent an e-mail to the file manager also.
My grandfather lived in Mission on 25th ave, in a regular apartment up until he was 88. One of the things he liked about it was he could walk to Safeway, and Shoppers' A couple of places he went to 3 or 4 times a week.

Thank you all for your interest in Riverwalk Senior Living. On Feb. 7, CPC gave unanimous recommendation of approval to the land use change and associated amendments to the local plan. The last step of the approvals process will be going before Council for consideration and decision at the March 18 Public Hearing. Your letter will be included in the Agenda of Council and assist Councillors in reviewing and deciding on whether or not Riverwalk is approved for development.

An interesting bit of information, in the letters of support for the land use, Combie REIT confirmed they own the Safeway block to the south, and have plans for redevelopment. The downside is, they don't appear to be in a rush:

NIMBYist would rather keep a rundown 3 storey building over something that will benefit seniors in an area that has already accepted "density." Some people just need to consider relocating to another neighbourhood or a town.
