What happened to the plans for the overpass at this intersection? Thought this land was to be part of that...
I always thought an enclosed waterpark with a retractable wall or two for the summer, would be very cool. You could have a rental and hotel component with balconies looking out onto the waterpark that I'm sure would be a hit in the winter and even in the summer. At night they could turn into a Vegas style pool/bar. Maybe there's no market for it but a guy can dream.Should’ve been a mixed use development with waterslides![]()

The waterpark is literally the only thing that I’m jealous of from Shelbyville.I always thought an enclosed waterpark with a retractable wall or two for the summer, would be very cool. That might actually be feasible. If used as a waterpark it wouldn't need the current roof, it could use a cable mesh with a tarp style roof, and my understanding is the roof is the main issue with the Dome.Wasn't an indoor water park one of the reuse ideas floated for the saddledome?
Perfect location for it IMO, makes a great destination for elbow river floats in the summer, and it would draw a lot of people to the area in the winter when the stampede grounds doesn't see as much traffic.
