To go further off track, usually routes I look at have too many turns, but this one would be fun! MRU to a new 50th Ave station. Could likely do the trip in 20-25 minutes.

Gotta cut the city some slack. They only had since 2014 to procure the land and the Greenline was only on the books since the mid-80's.
A lot of these diversions were also not planned from the beginning

Highfield curve probably to do with the landfill as darwink pointed out, Quarry Park I assume was moved over to 24th so it's actually closer to places people want to go instead of in the middle of a landfill

It begs the question....

1. Why was a landfill allowed to be built over an LRT ROW that was planned since the 1980's?
2. Why wasn't landfill abatement performed so that LRT line be built on the perimeter of a landfill? And thus having a more direct route.
2. Why couldn't the Greenline procure more land to straighten out segments of the line?

It just seems like poor planning.
