It looks OK from the front but that ghastly side view reminds me of the commie blocks that they threw up in Toronto and Ottawa by the dozens in the 70s. Much like Sentinel, every redesign seems to be a step backwards.

I would say that those commie blocks generally look better than this.

Incidentally, when it comes to 1970s commie blocks, The Beltline is basically indistinguishable from parts of Toronto:

When I hear "commie block" I think Pruitt-Igoe, not these 800sqft 2-bed 1970s apartments with an expansive balcony and a fully functioning elevator.

What's the "commie" part? the low ceilings?
 
It's not really that bad. The wide view is 5A street. The front facing 17th looks like this:

Ignoring the ugly FRANCESCO on the right, and the corrugated metal on both sides of the corner. this is fine to me. It's certainly better than what we have there now.
Looks great from this elevation. Hope they keep the brick
