Cheering for, no but it isn't that simple for me...
I don't want to see the cup in Florida anymore, I'm not saying a Canadian team needs to win the cup but it would be nice to see a passionate hockey market win. I lived in Edmonton and I know it isn't such a bad place, they do street calming and bike lanes much better than we do and are actually meaningfully adding on to their LRT network (not without some issues...). Am I worried about the arrogance of Oiler fans? Yes but I know the Oilers and the things I mention above are about all they have to be happy about. Also Maurice is a tool in a shed so seeing that guy's ego checked would be nice.
So if the Oilers win, I'll be happy for my dad (longtime Oiler fan), Connor McDavid, and... that's the list.
Seeing the celebration would also be wild! I assume they end up in Commonwealth with people in the stands and on the field. How many people could fit in there 100,000+? It is crazy to think but honestly and I mean realistically thinking about it they could probably get 1 million+ people to come out.
