3 shutouts in 4 games for Markstrom and 6 W's in a row, probably the best start to a season I can remember!
They generated lots of chances, just tried to be too cute all game finishing them.I watched the game this evening, and even though the Flames lost in OT tonight, they dominated play. If they just keep playing the way they are they'll have a pretty good season.
Wow that's straight up ugly...The Flames are the first team to play the Islanders in the new UBS Arena tonight.
Anyone else notice how much UBS Arena resembles the BMO Centre?
Our goaltending is also far better than what we had in 2018. That gives us the chance to steal a win here and there when the team isn't playing as well up front (like the Pittsburgh game for example). If last year someone had asked me if the Flames would be starting this season at 10-3-5 I would have laughed. What's even more amazing is an 8-2-2 record on the road, where all teams were .500 or over except for two. They aren't as exciting as the Flames from 2018 where they were a rushing team with lots of beautiful goals, but this style of play is more difficult to play against, and will give them a better chance in the playoffs.
