Calgary Flames Official Thread

You know it's not good when you're in mid-march and you still can't decide whether to root for them to win or lose.

Part of me would like to see them make the playoffs just for a bit excitement, that and it would mean the Canucks missing the playoffs. If they did make the playoffs, they'd probably be swept out the door quickly, with the only chance being Wolf potentially stealing a series.

I think we have a shot against a fragile Jets team. Jets are both Canada's best chance at a cup and also the Flames best chance to go to the second round. Both because they can be bad in the playoffs and they can be good.

Flames are still only 4 points out of finishing the bottom 10 in the league and keeping our 1st round pick this year. The situation in Vancouver is blowing my mind, they should be so much better than they are. St Louis has been on fire lately and will likely bump both teams.

Others say this so I cannot take the credit. It is about the teams between you, not the points. Flames have .556 points %, 23rd team (Boston) has .508. We're losing the pick.

Fair enough.

Flames - Canucks tonight, huge game for both teams!
Canucks lost last night to Montreal, Calgary is their second easiest travel but still a back to back. If Flames can get ahead early they can take the game into the mud and make a tired Canucks team work. Not sure I can trust the flames to score early but I can hope.

All we need is an early goal or two, then Wolf to shut the door and grind 'em out the rest of the way. Canucks are very fragile right now, they can't score and injuries are killing them.

Avalanche tonight, going to be a tough one to get a win. Backlund is out for a week or two now as well, not ideal.

Flames and Canucks tied with 71 (though we get the spot due to less games played, and St Louise and Utah with 69 points, all 4 teams fighting for a single wildcard spot. Should make for some good hockey down the stretch!
