Throwing light outwards, instead of onto the perforated panels.
That's what I've been wondering. In that pic of the crown lit up, it looks like the light is against the perforated panels as the lit areas seem to be between the beams.

Lighting up that perforated panel makes the most sense, that way you get a more even distribution of light. Having the lights mounted to the structure leaves those large gaps you see. I'm still hoping that's lighting for people inside the crown and not feature lighting.

Work has begun on plaza itself, young trees are popping up:

The plaza is looking less like a construction zone and more of a plaza. It'll be nice when the fencing is finally gone.

That was the sunset... the edges are curved, so they reflect different areas of the sky as they curve than the flat edges do.

Got a good look at the crown lighting last night and I believe that we are looking at the final product. That said, it did look much better last night than I've seen it look so far. Stay tuned for pics.

No tripod for these unfortunately, but reasonably clear photos. I would like to point out that IMO the crown lighting does looks better in real life than in the pics. In real life it has a more warm look to it, and despite playing around with the White Balance, was not able to capture the proper warmth of the lighting.

I think the gap is due to a box ..... probably some kind a rolling tool box that was partially in the way while they had the lights on. At one point they moved the box and the shadow moved with it.

I think on the long side, in the middle there's 3 columns between the lights and then it goes to 2 columns between lights which creates a break between the falloffs.
