I recall hearing that with the completion of the BMO Centre and the increased number of conventions and trade shows that entails, that Calgary is now short around 5000 hotel rooms in the downtown area. That leaves room for several large hotels.

Unfortunately the Premier started talking about incentives when she heard that, so developers will wait rather than take the risk their competitors will get a subsidy.

Noticed a couple weeks ago that many of the curved glass panels on the +15 cracked on the same day. Hard to see in the photos but they've taped protective sheeting on the cracked panels and have erected scaffolding outside the building. I guess they haven't fully solved the glass issues on this building
