Holy moly! No giant pit to dig and then fill back up. This should proceed pretty quickly then.
The scope of this project is still unclear
Is it 2 new towers or 3? Of those towers, which ones will reuse the existing foundation and which will require new foundations?

Yep, the newer portion was Spring of 1984, and the older portion sometime around 1967. I'm one of the few people old enough to remember when it was the 'Calgary Power' building. It's in this photo from either summer of 68 or summer of 69. But either way, yeah, it's been around for a while. I'm glad they're keeping it and converting it.

We really use to be something... The shear ambition to build the Calgary Tower in that city of modest towers. Then we hosted an Olympics! I'm trying to think of what could be a modern equivalent feat that we could undertake, I'm struggling.
Puts modern era 12 storey proposal in Bankview or a 19 storey proposal in Marda Loop into perspective for sure.

Build a 2000' tower and host the summer games? lol

Is Stampede Station not enough for you? One billion plus privately financed project, two ultra luxury hotels, the tallest building in western Canada, and it's not even technically downtown.
