On a positive note, things must be good when the Stampede is adding more suites, from a Herald article on Tourism.
Calgary Stampede CEO Joel Cowley says tickets for the rodeo and evening show are outpacing last year's record, with premium stadium seating already on an extensive waiting list. They're tearing down a structure on the north end of the stadium to build more, as soon as this year's Stampede ends.
"We'll add seven new suites and a party deck on top to help meet that demand," Cowley said. "That's going to be ready for 2026."
The building currently houses broadcast production, judges and EMTs in the space, although Cow- ley says the new construction will house all three in addition to the new suites. He says that no regular seating is being sacrificed for the sake of the premium, and that the only thing being relocated is a room that the Calgary Stampede chuckwagon and relay committee uses to host during the rodeo and evening shows.

They needed more runway and failed to turn it into viable product. On Reddit, insiders make it sounds like their board was captured by the founder(s), who should have been supplemented or replaced at least a few years back.

The status quo seems to be the trend and that is what it is, I personally don't see a big shift to more negative or positive numbers any time soon. The conversions have more of an affect on City-Building than actually affecting vacancy. It doesn't seem like we'll be heavily affected by any tariff news and our major employment driver is happy to be returning money to shareholders versus making long term investments. Even a little pipeline news won't move the needle as that won't really translate into any or much new office staff. This isn't bad though, a steady ship in stormy seas is one I'm happy to be on.Calgary office market report

Agreed. If my math is right, the conversions will take away 1.5M sqft or roughly 2%, so not much of a change for the vacancy rate.
If some of the other towers, sit empty long enough, we may see more conversions going through even without the cities subsidies.
