To me the West Village Towers look more like exacto knives. 11th and 11th reminds me of a Toblerone bar.

Kind of both. It's pretty typical to have double height lobby/entranceway under the transfer structure near the front of the building, and the back of house be 2 floors to accommodate storage lockers, mail rooms, rental offices, bike rooms, etc.

Both the 11th Ave & 11th St frontages are largely 1 level, but you can see from the north side its 2.
