    Trail 31 | 13m | 3s | Eagle Crest | FAAS Architecture

    Almost complete now.

    Nari | 24m | 6s | FAAS Architecture

I forgot to mention that the name sounds Japanese, it’s giving me Tokyo vibes! 😉

    Francesco's | 48m | 16s | Arlington Street | DAAS

The base looks huge. Luckily they are done 6 floors and now the tower portion will only be about half the footprint.

    1216 8th Street | 87m | 28s | Great West Life | Zeidler

Would be great if this gets going. 👍

    Crown Surplus | 20.36m | 6s | KN

The problem is they, the armed forces eventually ran out of the cool older things that were true surplus items, a lot of stuff leftover from WWI and WWII. When I was kid they had piles of stuff, and we’re practically giving it away.

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

Also I don't like the idea of the train crossing 16th at grade. I'm not concerned about the vehicle's inconvenience, but more on the operational and safety side and inconvenience and safety for the train. I think we spend the money and do it properly, and ensure the train has a smooth path at...

    Nari | 24m | 6s | FAAS Architecture

Yep, that part is unfortunate. We seem to be losing a lot of that old apartment stock these days, especially since we never had a ton of it to begin with.

    Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

From the article it appears a couple of councilors (Wong and Carlo-Carras) still want to look at other routes downtown, and Gondek still feels like the underground is the best option and feels confident it will be chosen as the downtown option. It's possible none of those three will be around...

    Nari | 24m | 6s | FAAS Architecture

Nice scale, and would fit into the neighborhood really well. Too bad it's replacing a couple of older stock apartment buildings, but it is what it is. Appears to be roughly 24 units replaced with 48 units. A bit of a density win.

    Stampede Station | 277.3m | 71s | Truman | NORR

I'm not a fan of the tall skyscraper clusters surrounded by single family homes. I'm good with a few highrises leverage some transit areas, but I'll always prefer low rises and missing middle type housing spread out over more area. I like the density build that Vancouver has along Broadway and...

    General Construction Updates

    Is it this one?

    Stampede Station | 277.3m | 71s | Truman | NORR

I think Vancouver/Burnaby will eventually have the tallest outside of Toronto, but it'll be delayed a few years. Calgary might get to hold the title again for a short period.

    General Construction Updates

Judging by the photo, it looks to be this location.

Nothing major for that location. A 9 unit build.

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

That's why so many young people (or even older people like myself) have tuned out the Herald. Their target audience is grumpy boomers, and though still somewhat relevant they are going down the path of the dodo bird if they don't re-invent themselves.

The other two days a week they're over at Harmony.

    Stampede Station | 277.3m | 71s | Truman | NORR

Bummer, though. I like that old brick plaza. I so wish the sales centre could be located on one of the empty lots in the area.

    Marda Loop Mixed Use | 20.37m | 5s | Shade Tree Design

I love these boutique buildings, where even office use is cool.

    Calgary Stampeders

I think Vernon-Kelowna-Penticton is around 400K iirc. Definitely a possibility they could do a team. Halifax seems the most likely if doing one new team, but I think they should look at doing 3. Okanagan, London (or KW) and, Halifax. It would be a nice balance of 6 per conference. If possible...
