https://developmentmap.calgary.ca/?find=DP2023-05201There has been an update to the DP at the old Silver Inn restaurant. Slight improvement at least:

Somewhat related, CNRL will be renovating and moving to the Shell building in 2025/2026 and vacating their Bankers Hall space. I'd imagine that gets snapped up relatively quickly as BH is a prime location.
I spotted some equipment doing soil sampling at the old Metro Ford site yesterday. Don't know if that means anything is immanent or if they are looking to sell, but action none the less.
That's got to be the most no brainer fitness park in the city. They could easily build a matching one at the top of the stairs in Crescent Heights Park. The lunch time stairs crowd would be more than enough to justify it.
My suspicion is that they are concerned about the liability of squatters starting fires and are demolishing the buildings. This will probably sit for a while as a gravel lot.
Its not going to win any awards but I'm happy with the way that the densification is going. Catalyst on 14th Street is a lot better or a design and I'd rather have more of those than this. Beggars can't be choosers.
Someone dropped off a mailer in my mailbox yesterday regarding opposition. The usual concerns: Density, slippery slope, parking, shadows, etc.
They also tried to kill the project on 22nd Ave and 4th Street but that's currently going ahead.
I could be wrong but I think the smallest building in waterfront has never been offered for sale. It's the 4 story building and I believe it's only 8 units.
This is great news. Hopefully pushes Safeway Properties to redevelope that heinous office building next door. I dream that one day that 4th Street can turn into 19th in West Hillhurst
To be fair, it's probably a lot safer for pedestrians now. They've removed the rush for vehicles to turn against traffic and over the marked crossing. Now I'm fully on team scramble for that intersection.
