That last pic 😎😎😎 I’d love to see the same pic, but from further back with more buildings in the shot.

I was thinking the same thing.

I see a like from user CtrlAltDel. Would this be the same CtrlAltDel from SSP?

It’s wild to see Edmonton have by far their biggest growth year ever and still be left in the dust by Calgary. A difference of 24k is likely the biggest disparity ever. And if Foothills part of the CMA it was be more like 26k difference.

😁 not to toot my horn too loudly, but I was pretty close for two of the cities. Let’s see how the other cities shake out.

This one looks like it has a built in clinic and surgical centre.

    Glenmore Landing | 115m | 35s | RioCan | NORR

This is the biggest issue IMO. To be fair, here in Calgary with such a high ratio of homeowners in past years often times renters were the less desirables in the neighborhood and gave the good renters a bad name. Before anyone jumps on me, I’m not saying that renters are bad of course, only that...

Seriously? You actually think shaming is a route we should take in society?? That’s right shame people for driving cars because they have 3 kids live out in the suburbs because that’s the place that works best for their situation. I suppose you think we ought to shame all those people who are...

    Northland Village Redevelopment | 19m | 6s | DIALOG

If I recall correctly, there were plans to develop the East End of North Hill but there is some sort of issue with the soil needing to be remediated.

    Brentwood Commons | 85m | 24s | Casola Koppe

Are there any renderings with a view from the east side? I’d like to see if the laneway through University City carries through into this development.

    2501 Richmond | 105m | 30s | Minto

Traffic is more what I meant. If they only build 1200 stalls, then there are only 1200 cars to create extra traffic. I agree with the original poster who said 2500 residential units would create a lot of traffic for a neighbourhood that doesn’t have very good egress/ingress. If the developer...

    2501 Richmond | 105m | 30s | Minto

They can build 2,500 units with 1,250 parking stalls. Problem solved.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

That’s 100% what it is. It’s nice to list East Village as an advantage, but from an investors point of view, the DIC kills it as a potential development site. Strictly from an investors point of view, you’d have to be brain dead to invest in something in that location.

    Alberta Pension Plan

The CPP will be fine when we hit those retirement ages ( I have about 20 years to go) but I agree 100% about having other investments as well. One shouldn’t rely on one single source like the government for retirement. It’s always wise to have a mix.

I thinking the same thing. About 85% of Vancouver’s buildings over 20 stories look almost the same. Gray, white or seafoam coloured window wall, and the same slenderness. I don’t recall seeing a building like this anywhere in Vancouver.

    Urban Multi-Family Construction Count Tracker

6 months ago I would have guessed the second Sunalta tower, but I don’t think so. They could’ve started the second tower by now while waiting for the materials to arrive for the first tower.

    University District | ?m | ?s | University of Calgary Properties Group

Parked cars are an issue but the protected lane between the sidewalk and cars works well as long as there is a 15-20 foot space with no parked cars at intersections. Given how long the blocks are at University District it shouldn’t be a problem like it is on 2nd Street.
