I would bet money the SAM Center gets converted to more school space for the performing arts stuff that is currently on site within the next decade. I agree with everyone else, I don’t see the draw or appeal of the SAM Center. Not sure why they would have invested that amount of time, money, and resources. They are better off displaying artifacts around the BMO Center instead.

Naming it SAM Centre was probably the biggest mistake. I bet a majority of people don't even know the Stampede has a museum. The name can also easily cause confusion with people thinking it's part of the adjacent performing arts campus.

I 100% thought it was part of the performing arts campus.

Every cultural building should be named under this convention. The Derek Zoolander Center For Kids Who Can't Read Good And Who Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too
 
The city updated the Scotia Place page on their site. Included is this new render of the welcome sign in multiple indigenous languages planned for the SW entrance. It's unfortunately a very tiny image though.

I'm 100% on board with indigenous consultation and design inspiration, and I think that was achieved with the home fire, parkade facade, and the general themes of fire/water/land/air....plus there's an external art piece dedicated to indigenous artists ....but it's now getting ridiculous. That sign is so far from meeting the moment for an entertainment venue....static, bland....feels like a library/museum/goverment lobby. Big miss
