fantastic, cant see how anything better could get built there at this moment. plus it takes up almost the whole half block except the car wash on 1st.

Nice, I figured they may be close when I saw the contractor signage last week. Not a great design but this area of the beltline really needs more development.
Edit: just added some pics from today - site prep started.
Also fyi mods - noticing some weird error messages when trying to upload pics post Lightroom. Having to edit via iPhone directly lately.

Another high rise going up in the Beltline! Well, almost high rise.
I'm happy it's a low-rise building. I like the high-rises, but I'd like to see more lowrises interspersed around the Beltline.

Eh its 37 meters. I consider anything at/over 100 feet a high rise. I believe the CTBUH also goes by that metric.

Yes. At the time, the proposal was put forward by the Kahanoff Corporation, prior to the current building adjacent to it. I believe that was designed by Dialog. The earlier proposal included a commercial tower with a linking atrium to the existing building, and two residential towers. There was going to be separate building for Decidedly Jazz. The organizing element was a centrally located public plaza that was both internal and external.
