They wouldn't be anywhere close to signing a lease yet. These "grocery" spaces are the same as school sites in new suburban communities. They'll design it for that (loading dock, warehousing, etc.) but no guarantee they have a grocer. It's in the marketing materials but for sure is not in the purchase documents.Any intel into which one?
Frontier in West Hillhurst and WVT got one. With these small format stores popping up, it's more likely to get one. Not to mention these are franchised locations so less capital from the parent company.I feel like every new development wants a grocery store, but very few have actually landed one.
Same for Rhapsody in U/D which has a Savon.Frontier in West Hillhurst and WVT got one. With these small format stores popping up, it's more likely to get one. Not to mention these are franchised locations so less capital from the parent company.
That one is much larger and a full service store, and it feels more similar to a new area where the grocery stores anchors the entire area. Whereas, the inner city ones are coming into an established neighborhood. I hope the Freshco in WH does well and they expand the concept.Same for Rhapsody in U/D which has a Savon.
It seemed pretty busy, a few groups walking around the sales centre and more people hanging out on the site after taking a look and grabbing some food. I didn't get a chance to talk to any of visitors, but with the prices and earlybird deals I'd imagine there was lots of interest in actually purchasing.Did anyone happen to swing by the sales centre over the weekend? If so wondering what the attendance/interest level looked like?
Im dreaming big. Hoping for a Costco like in Metro Vancouver. If it's true that one of the big CRUs in the podium will be a grocery store that will be a great amenity for the beltline
Imagine if EV got a Costco instead of a Superstore. Even with the riff-raff in the area, the sheer number of Costco shoppers would revitalize the area during the dayIm dreaming big. Hoping for a Costco like in Metro Vancouver.
If this were to go in the west village of downtown, it alone could pay for the cleanup to get it and the subsequent other developments built. A rethink of the road network in the area would be required to handle the traffic but the opportunity is definitely there.a Costco like in Metro Vancouver

I was there and it was packed. They went all out. Huge amounts of free food and drinks. Burgers, charcuterie, donuts, etc. they also built out two fully completed show homes in the sales centre. One studio, and one two bedroom. They looked pretty decent. Small but good layouts.Did anyone happen to swing by the sales centre over the weekend?
