2025 Calgary Stampede narrowly misses attendance record
quotes from the article:
I wonder if the storm on Sunday dampened the attendance? With it only being 7K short, I can't help but wonder what the attendance would have been with nice weather all day.

I don't know if any Marda Loopians? (Marda Loopers? Marda Loopans?) attended Marda Gras this year. Curious it was?
I went to Marda Gras, it was great! There were lots of interesting booths and only a couple that were selling crappy drop-shipped stuff or 3D-printed dragons. The street was absolutely bustling with people at around 12-2pm while I was there.

I am currently dog-sitting so I was a bit busy wrangling the dog around, but I wish I could have stopped to check out some of the booths more in-detail and chat with some of the people running for mayor/council who had their own booths.

We had to sneak off to the Leonard developments on 34 ave for a reprieve from the crowd after a bit, but it was nice to see so many people enjoying the neighbourhood!

EDIT: Also I think the road closure on 34 ave at 21 st due to construction actually helped make the area feel more quiet and comfortable!

Saw this house on 10th St., Northwest, used to be blue or something if I remember correctly but now I’m seeing siding and a faint image of the old Calgary brewery logo 😎

I just wanted to mention an event that some might find interesting, Harry Sanders, local historian is doing a talk on the 40th anniversary of the Calgary Municipal building, including the buildings that used to be on the blocks it was built on. The Calgary Municipal Building 1880-1980. Free talk at the central library next Saturday Oct 18

Thanks! Some others to mention @Cgloins and @niteryder . Niteryder has turned construction shots into an art form.
