Much less crowded compare to Spring/Summer. And for us, the winter there feels like a good Chinook day.Japan is wonderful in the winter. I highly recommend, even if you don't include a ski portion.

would be the best case scenario. very interesting!is this due to an increase in Americans coming to Canada?
Feb being down just because it has fewer days this year is a bit of a laugh. Otherwise, feb domestic and transborder up 0.4%, international 8.2%!.
I wonder if CI (China Airlines from Taiwan) would take this route. Being Skyteam they'd have good connectivity through Westjet. They already sell WS codeshares on YVR-YYC and LAX-YYC. It'd also give a connection to SE Asia. While a lot of US markets are bigger, they're also more saturated, while we only have a year round WS flight and the JL codeshares don't go past Japan I don't think.Something else interesting to keep an eye on:
Starlux recently announced their new Taipei- Vancouver route since Canada updated their bilateral with Taiwan, and interestingly enough it allowed for up to 14x weekly flights to YYC/YYZ, but not YVR (it is at capacity) or YUL.
I don’t think any airlines have currently expressed interest in flying TPE-YYC, but this is still a positive regardless.
That would be awesome. Their service is always top notchI wonder if CI (China Airlines from Taiwan) would take this route. Being Skyteam they'd have good connectivity through Westjet. This suggests that outbound travel hasn't declined much: https://www.ctvnews.ca/calgary/arti...-still-heading-south-amid-political-tensions/would be the best case scenario. very interesting!
February isn't when I would measure 'mission not accomplished. With plenty of travel booked close to a year in advance, and a lot more than 4 months in advance. This suggests that outbound travel hasn't declined much: https://www.ctvnews.ca/calgary/arti...-still-heading-south-amid-political-tensions/
Maybe "elbows up" rings less true in Alberta?
