I don't like seeing something like this on a main corridor like 11th ave. It looks like any other typical suburban build of today.

I think a development on 11thave should be something more like Enzo, Lido or Frontier or at least like The Hive as the bare minimum

Quite awful. I share the desire for more units in the Beltline, but surely there's a better way to do it than this... It's so boring. I wonder why developers don't visually break up the facade to at least simulate the look of 2-3 smaller buildings, rather than one gigantic block.

I wish that they would just do something more minimal and warehouse-like, something resembling maxwell bates block. Just brick and glass would be perfect, especially for this location.
Agreed! An all-brick warehouse style building would be perfect for this location. There's just too much going on here.

Looks pretty generic, typical Calgary lol.

These boring designs are good ones to nit-pick materials and ground floor treatment. This random building in Chicago is approximately the same size and shape, but looks better due to bricks and a more urban ground floor.

Size is fine, big blocky buildings can be attractive. Just needs to focus on the materials and ground floor.

Tbf, I wouldn't describe that building as boring or simple. We probably cannot mimic this building without removing even the little amounts of ornamentation that exists, and turning it into a blank slate devoid of any beauty. Your point still stands however, it would look better than what is being proposed.

This type of meaningless architecture is destroying Calgary.

Lack of architectural design, compensated by changing materials on the same plane to pretend to give articulation to the building. This is a great example of what I call Paint By Number Architecture.
The building is basically a 10 storey wall with holes for balconies and change of colors to break the monolithic appearance.
Can't imagine what it will look like once it goes through VE...

Really disappointed that the City approves this!
