In our last check up on The Edward, the building was taking shape with a large part of the building's exterior completed and exposed for view - with the exception of a large tarp covering the northeast section of the building. Recent photos now show the tarp is off, The Edward's exterior is now open for everyone to see, and we can now get a good overall look at the building.

The current consensus on our discussion forum is that the look and design of The Edward has turned out very well. The stylish 5 storey building is cladded in light beige brick and tinted vision glass combining a modern look of sharp edges, glass and geometrical patterns with a timeless material like brick.

Developed by Section 23, the residential building will be used for seniors housing, and will home to approximately 95 units. The Edward is situated in the inner city neighborhood of South Calgary, right next to the King Edward Arts Incubator and is a short walk to the stores and restaurants of bustling Marda Loop. It's also reasonably close to downtown Calgary and the 17th Avenue entertainment district.

Although the exterior of the building is mostly complete, there is still more work to done on the interior of the building. SkyriseCalgary will be sure to revisit the project at that time, so stay tuned for future updates.
