It's been a little over a month since we last followed up on Cidex's three tower, West Village Towers project. At that time we discussed the commencement of construction on the second tower, and since that time there has been steady progress on the first tower.

Cladding installation has continued on the first tower, and is now about half way up the already topped out tower. With much of the orange tarp and bright blue tape gone, we are now are getting a decent vision at how the glazing will look throughout. The glazing takes on warm earth-like tones in the sun, and blue-gray tones on cloudy days.

Located at 11 St SW in the neighborhood of downtown Calgary West End, West Village Towers will bring up to 800 new residents to the area, helping to invigorate the streetscape adjacent to Shaw Millennium Park. Residents will have an easy commute thanks to the project's close proximity to the West Kerby CTrain, this and the aforementioned park and nearby Bow River, combining to make this a highly walkable neighbourhood in the very near future.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
