Centron's Place 10, a project that has been around for a while now has a new look and design. Centron has recently released new renderings showing the latest plan for the project two tower project. Designed by Calgary based Gibbs Gage Architects, the new plan calls for a pair of 37 storey towers sitting atop a podium along 10th ave SW.

Place 10 has been around as a project, since 2012 when newly unveiled renderings showed a pair of 14 storey office buildings. Construction started on the project in 2014, and made it to just above grade but was halted when Calgary's space market to a tumble due to high vacancy rates. The project has sat idle for a couple of years and had limited activity in 2016 as construction crews brought it up to grade before halting construction again.

The site has been idle ever since, with the only update to the project being new renderings. In early spring of 2019 new renderings surfaced showing a two tower residential project, with one tower approximately 50 storeys, and second tower at around 30 storeys. Still the site sat idle.

New life arrived in fall of 2019 as a development permit was submitted to the city for a new design, and that's where we are today. The permit is still under review by The City of Calgary, and until it is released the site will be idle, although word has it, Centron is anxious to get started on this project if it is approved by the city.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file, for photo updates and discussion check out the related Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
