Recent renderings have surfaced showing a new proposal for the Tuxedo Park neighborhood. Calgary based Eagle Crest Construction recently unveiled a new proposal currently dubbed, 'Trail19', a 6 storey mixed use project slated for Edmonton Trail and 19th ave NW.

The proposal consists of 73 residential units atop commercial retail units, with the retail units facing onto Edmonton Trail. It also calls for live work unit sin the building as well as a child care facility accommodating up to 60 children.

Though the project is in its early stages and somewhat conceptual, the building, designed by FAAS Architecture shows a modern looking low rise suing a combination of brick, Stucco EIFS panels, and wood slats for exterior materials, and terraced balconies on the top floor.

The development process can take a while, but Eagle Crest has sped things up, as the development has kicked off with concurrent submissions of a Development Permit (DP), and Land Use Re-Designation (LOC) application, with the DP submitted by FAAS and the LOC submitted by urban planners, Civicworks. Before the rezoning can be approved there will be community engagement and public consultation.

The project looks to be a good fit for the Edmonton Trail corridor, and is in a good central location for its future residents and retail clients. As always with newly proposed developments, there will be lots of activity coming, and as always SkyriseCalgary will return to check up on the project. For more information, check out the associated Database file, for photo updates and discussion check out the related Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
