In our last check up on 5th and Third, back in August, construction had just recommenced on the postponed west tower. A crane had arrived on site and was installed, with work then beginning on the tower portion.

Fast forward to right now, and the tower is easily visible in the East Village skyline, with work happening at around the 14th floor, or just over half way to topping out. As the tower continues to rise up above, the changes down at the lower levels have also been just a rapid as exterior cladding work is well underway.

Recent photos of the Embassy Bosa development have captured the installation of blue-gray toned spandrel glass panels on the lower 4 floors of the tower portion at the north east corner of the project. As expected, vision glass is also being installed on the exterior. Designed by Amanat Architects, along with Calgary based Gibbs Gage, the construction is for the 24 storey east tower, while the 41 storey west tower is slated to be built at a later date.

Located in Calgary's East Village atop, RioCan's nearly completed retail complex, the residential units, which are to be purpose built rental, will be ideally located, with a Superstore Grocery outlet and a Shoppers' Drug mart located in the retail podium, as well as close proximity to downtown, and a nearby LRT station. The development also sits in close to the Bow River and the east portion of the Calgary's exciting new Riverwalk. It's also a stone's throw from the Calgary's widely praised New Central Library, and Studio Bell.
