In our last check up on the progress at Curtis Block, the towers were just starting to rise above the podium. The north tower was showing signs of its shape and floor-plate size rising slightly above the podium while work was still underway on the podium section that the south tower would eventually sit atop of.

Recent photos show both towers are well on their way to joining the other towers in the east Beltline cityscape. The north tower has added 8 floors since the last follow up, and construction work is now at the 13th floor, or just over a third of the final height. The south tower is rising fast as well, with concrete pouring happening on the 8th floor.

Developed by One Properties, the project is being built in two phases with phase one seeing construction of the north and south tower - both of which are on the easternmost side of the development - combing for a total of 628 units. Phase two will consist of a single tower on the west side of the project, and when complete all three towers will total 958 units. Designed by Arquitectonica and DIALOG, the three towers and nearly one thousand units make it one of the largest residential projects in the city.

The project in its entirety, will not only add a large number of new residents to the east end of the Beltline, but it will be adding a substantial amount of retail as well, with retail spaces facing onto both 12th and 13th Avenue SW

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
