A month since our last update, and progress at Phase One of the three-tower Curtis Block has been moving along swiftly. The base of the first two towers has now risen several storeys above grade, the project as a whole taking up a significant part of the local landscape.

Standing tall at the corner of 12 Ave SE and 1 St SE, Curtis Block will soon deliver upwards of 1,500 residents to the south end of the core. Developed by One Properties, and designed by DIALOG and Arquitectonica, the full build-out of the mixed-use Curtis Block will feature a great deal of retail at grade, with multiple frontages.

All told, the three towers will top out at 50 for the tallest, the complex to be home to 958 residents, and a handful of commercial tenants. Close to transit, several parks, East Village, and Beltline, Curtis Block will no doubt be a popular address among buyers looking to live centrally.

Moving into the heart of the development, it is clear that much has yet to be done, the massive build site to grow significantly over the next 12-18 months. Once complete, Curtis Block will be a fine addition to the core.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
