Following a brief hiatus, construction has re-commenced on a halted project south of downtown Calgary. Construction began on Mission Landing, a 5-storey, 70-unit development on Macleod Trail in the summer of 2018, but the site has sat idle for the better part of last year. This past summer, however, construction resumed, with pile installation occurring in Early September. Recent photos also show that foundation work has been done in some areas, and piles have been installed.
The project is a joint venture between Calgary CO-OP and Quarry Bay Investments. The two groups have partnered up on other proposed projects around the city involving Calgary CO-OP grocery stores, but this location does not involve a grocery store, and is the first to begin construction. Other developments include Winston on 16th, Brentwood Commons, Boulevard at Dalhousie and Oakridge Crossing. Once complete, the development will feature a liquor store on the main level and a gas bar/car wash adjacent to the building.
