It's been 4 months since we last reported on Intergulf's 11th + 11th development. At that time excavation was underway, and had reached roughly halfway down to the bottom. This past weekend the project reached a key milestone as a tower crane was erected on the site.

Demolition of the previous building began just over a year ago, followed almost immediately by pile installation. Pile installation took a while, and it was not until this past February that excavation began. Excavation has been slow, the pit being a deep one, but now with a tower crane, work will begin to hasten.

The 44-storey tower, designed by Ramsay Worden Architects, will be home to 369 residential units, all of which will be purpose-built rental suites. The tower is located in a key location, across the street from the popular Midtown CO-OP Grocery store and is only a 4 block walk to the Kerby LRT station. 11th + 11th will also be walking distance to Calgary's 17th Avenue entertainment district, including the Beltline Best Buy and Canadian Tire.

Once complete, 11th + 11th will be a transformative development for the area, its height and density part of the new face of urban living in Calgary.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below
