Two months since our last update, and crews have been keeping busy, the excavation site for 11th + 11th having transformed into a gaping maw of progress. With the spring thaw, efforts to remove earth from the build site have been facilitated, it to not be long now before the first crop of reinforced concrete begin to appear.

Located, as the name suggests, at the corner of 11 St SW and 11 Ave SW, 11th + 11th will eventually be home to upwards of 500 residents, spread across the 44-storey tower's 369 residential suites. Set between Beltline and the Downtown West End, the Ramsay Worden Architects-designed tower will help bring an increased urbanity and pedestrian vibrancy to the area.

Well-served by transit, and within close walking distance to the shops and restaurants of the Beltline, 11th + 11th will be a prime urban address for a select number of buyers looking for a nice balance of convenience and city living. Close as well, to the Bow River and the bustling Kensington commercial strip just across the bridge, 11th + 11th will place residents near to several of downtown Calgary's most popular neighbourhoods.

The completed tower will be clad almost entirely in a smooth curtain wall of glass, save for balconies and the multi-storey podium base. Down at street level, the inclusion of a row of retail within the podium will serve to further enliven the site.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
