Two months since our last update, and the three-storey Eisenberg commercial development in Kensington has begun to fill out. Now at 2/3 its final height, the mixed-use structure appears to have come into its own within the 10 St NW streetscape, its first two floors now complete.

Situated at the heart of Calgary's popular Kensington neighbourhood, just north of the Bow River, Eisenberg's two levels of office space, to be perched atop a single floor of street-facing retail, will serve the area well. Itself in the midst of an redevelopment boom, the quickly intensifying district will benefit from some much needed commercial space.

Moving around to the rear, the size and scope of the development can best be appreciated, the narrow, but deep lot allowing for a larger footprint than one might assume from the street. The replacement for a single-storey boutique, Eisenberg will bring the type of gentle density that Kensington's urban fabric demands.

Designed by NORR Architects, Eisenberg will feature a unique, off-kilter, glass facade. Allowing panoramic views from within, and an interesting visual cue from without, the overall effect will likely be a positive one.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
