Two months since we last checked in at The Hub at the UofC, and progress has moved ahead considerably. The 28-storey mixed-use high-rise has now risen to its midpoint, with the beginnings of insulation work now underway.

Located adjacent to the UofC campus in northwest Calgary, The Hub will be comprised of 323 residential units, in addition to a small mixture of commercial and retail space within its multi-storey podium base. Part of the Banff Trail Station Area Development Plan, The Hub is but one of several new developments in the area once known as "Motel Village."

Adjacent to the UofC, and close to SAIT, The Hub will be a prime address for students, grad students, and academic types working with either institution. Close as well to transit, The Hub will be ideal for those in need of a quick commute into the downtown core.

Designed by ARK for Campus Suites, The Hub will feature a large glass tower paired with a low-rise mixed-use podium faced in a mix of dark spandrel and vision glass. Set to receive ample landscaping, The Hub will likely be a popular address for years to come.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
