Six weeks since our last update, and progress at The Hub by Campus Suites has moved ahead significantly. In particular, the base of the 28-storey, 323-unit residential tower has now risen at least 4 storeys above grade, the project to bring upwards of 400 residents to the doorstep of the UofC in northwest Calgary.

Designed by ARK, The Hub will be geared towards students, close as it is to both the UofC and SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology). Close as well to an LRT station, The Hub will be well-connected to the downtown core, thus making it a prime address for those in need of a fast commute.

Part of the larger, Banff Trail Station Area Redevelopment Plan, The Hub joins several other projects which will soon transform the district. Once known as the "Motel Village," the district has quickly become a hive of activity as more and more projects come online.

Once complete, The Hub will be a fine addition to the lands adjacent to the UofC, this and other area projects like it part of the region's ongoing urban transformation.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Databasefile and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
