A month since our last update, and 500 Block's rapid ascent has progressed unabated as the 35-storey residential high-rise continues to take its place upon the downtown skyline. Set to consist of two distinct volumes, including the aforementioned 35-storey tower, and the adjacent, 7-storey podium, the mixed-use 500 Block will soon be home to upwards of 600 residents spread across 463 units.

Located at the corner of 4 St SW and 12 Ave SW, the project will breathe new life into this previously under-utilized segment of the downtown core. Situated thus just south of the tracks, and several blocks north of the bustling 17 Ave SW commercial corridor, 500 Block will bring some much-needed density and height to the area between downtown and Beltline.

Close as well to Central Memorial Park, Beltline, and East Village, 500 Block will be a prime address for urban professionals and their families for many years to come.

With plenty of changes still to come, SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
